The all-student convocation and the fall out

The all-student convocation was held by the Student Association after the Student Center Board’s withdrew the invitation to Abbie Hoffman and Leonard Weinglass. The students voted to continue on with hosting Hoffman regardless of the SCB’s withdrawal and the University Welfare Committee’s decisions.

Immediately after, the acting University President Frank Vandiver vetoed the decision. What resulted was a battle of wills between the various administrative groups and an increasingly agitated student body.
