The Montrose Center

The Montrose Center was founded in 1979 and is a space created primarily for the LGBT community and their families to enjoy healthier and more fulfilling lives. Their goal is to create a healthier society and create positive attitudes and behaviors toward the LGBT community. Since the LGBT community face numerous health disparities compared to the general population, The Montrose Center has created access to health and support services, adult primary care and free wellness programs. This center is home to dozens of LGBT social and civic organizations. [4]

In this environment no one has to hide, explain or justify thieir feelings or thoughts about who they are.

The Montrose Center also offers various support groups that run specific days of the week. Some groups that are offered are; the Coming Out Support Group, Bisexuality Discussion Group, Transgender Youth Group, Trans*Fabulous Support Group, and the Depression Bipolar Support Group.

The Montrose Center also offers groups and activities for wellness purposes such as mental health programs, anti-violence programs, and physical health programs.[4]
