Abstract

Sarah L. Lane was a member of the Rice Institute class of 1919. Beginning in 1920, Lane worked at Fondren Library, eventually serving as Librarian, and retiring in 1962. She also served as Dean of Women. The Sarah Lane Literary Society was established at the Rice Institute in 1947. She died in 1986.
