Description

Three newsclippings describing commencement and the graduating class of 1970 at Rice University. Two firsts are described in the Sallyport issue of June 1970: Linda Faye Williams of Jones College and Theodore Marshall of Will Rice College, became the first African Americans to graduate from Rice. Former Student Association vice president Jeffrey L. Cox, became the first student ever featured as a speaker at a Rice commencement.
