Elora Shehabuddin is a Bangladeshi American professor of humanities at Rice University, specializing in women’s studies, Asian studies, and political science. In this interview, Dr. Shehabuddin discusses growing up in Bangladesh during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971; living in various countries around the world; the sociocultural and familial dynamics of her marriage; and her academic career at Rice, Harvard, Princeton, and UC Irvine.
