Mrs. Rose Pu was born in Beijing in 1927 and lived in the Forbidden City with her family. She moved to Shanghai when she was two, and experienced the Japanese bombing of the city during World War II. She came to America when she was 20 to finish college, but could not find a job even after earning an MBA from Baylor University.
