Interview - Jiashan Lang

Jiashan Lang was born in Beijing, China to an artistic family. Dough figurine art is a significant practice in her family. Before her father passed away, she learned to create dough figurine art with him, who was also influenced by his father (Lang’s paternal grandfather), to bring this art form back to people’s sight. She moved to Houston with her Chinese American husband in 2011 and continues the tradition by making dough figurines that have been displayed in multiple galleries and exhibits. She has been featured on TV for her pieces that depict significant historical and cultural Chinese stories. Jiashan Lang is currently an MBA student with a focus in marketing, and envisions to split her time between marketing and dough figurine art.
