Interview - Wei-huan Chen

Wei-Huan Chen was born in Stony Brook, NY, and moved to Taiwan for two years before moving back to the United States to reunite with his father in Philadelphia. He attended Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and majored in English Literature. His time at Brandeis was influential in being close to Boston, where he was a regular attendee at Boston’s arts and culture scene. As a writer in the college newspaper, he got experience with writing and connected with his love for music and his Asian heritage. He now works as a theatre and art critic for the “Houston Chronicle”. He has been known for his controversial writings on topics related to race and identity here in Houston, a city that is broadly considered the most diverse in the country.
